A Letter From Kate

Hello,

I began working on The Kate Vohs Foundation when I was 14, and that dream became a reality at the age of 15 in early 2019. I created The Kate Vohs Foundation to help children survivors of abuse as well as those from low-income households through scholarships in the performing arts. Many children suffer in their lives, the performing arts being their only reprieve. I experienced this myself, and after seeing it in others, I wanted them to be able to heal as well. At a young age, I had been abused by a family member for multiple years. I remember the feeling of hopelessness and worthlessness that came with each day. I also remember the only thing that made those feelings go away was my art. Every time I sang or set foot on a stage I felt like me again, I felt happy. You cannot control what happens in your life, but hopefully I can give you a chance to be free, to do what you love, and to grow into the artist that you want to be. The Kate Vohs Foundation provides the ability to heal through art, as I did, and to help those who feel hopeless rise up and become a star, even if their world is full of darkness. I hope you can join us in helping others, or if you would like to apply, please click on Apply for more information. I hope to meet you soon!

With love,

Kate EM Vohs
